Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
Rebecca is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate a wide range of emotional experiences and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, interpersonal relationships, and life transitions. She believes that each person has unique strengths and the capacity for growth, even during difficult or overwhelming seasons of life.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative and person-centered. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and move at a pace that feels right for them. She believes the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change and works to build trust and emotional safety in each session.
She draws from a variety of evidence-based approaches to support clients in developing practical coping skills and healthier patterns of thinking. When working with younger clients, she also integrates play-based therapeutic techniques to support expression and engagement in developmentally appropriate ways.
With a Christian faith background, Rebecca is able to incorporate a faith-based perspective when it is helpful and requested, while always honoring each client’s beliefs and values. She feels honored to walk alongside clients as they build insight, strengthen coping skills, and work toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding.
A note from Lisa: ‘On a personal level, I enjoy advocating for others on the local, state, and federal levels. My favorite time of the year is Christmas (I leave a tree up all year round, decorating for different seasons and holidays. My son’s Siamese Cat is the cutest (in my opinion). Some of my favorite hobbies include Crafts, Reading, and creating projects on Canva. On my bucket list is to travel to Thailand, New Zealand, and Brazil.
