Teresa is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist who integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and talk therapy to treat her clients. She uses EMDR to help treat depression and anxiety caused by trauma and has found it especially healing for those in helping professions, such as first responders, teachers, nurses, doctors, and therapists. She also holds EMDR certifications in treating chronic pain (including phantom pain and migraines) and eating disorders (binge and overeating).

After earning a B.S. in Psychology focusing on Addictions and Recovery from Liberty University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cornerstone University, Teresa worked in a variety of settings before coming to Bloom Behavioral Health Partners. Her clinical internship took place in the Intensive Outpatient Treatment Groups and Individual Counseling at Samaritas Substance Use Disorder Clinic.  She has also worked with homeless populations battling substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Helping clients cope with trauma and other issues is rewarding for Teresa. “I enjoy working with clients and helping them achieve goals they once thought were impossible,” she says.
