Matt Thatcher, born and raised in Western Michigan, moved from Holland to Grand Haven where he graduated high school. He received a BA at Western Michigan University, where he majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Philosophy.
After a 2-year stint in the ski industry in Vail, CO, Matt returned to the Midwest, where he attended graduate school at the Chicago School of Forensic Psychology and graduated from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology with an MA in Clinical Psychology.
He completed his clinical training at Illinois Masonic Behavioral Health Center, where he was also employed as a counselor in their outpatient clinic. He has worked in many different clinical settings and levels of care, from adult inpatient hospitals to private practice. He has been licensed in the state of Michigan as a Professional Counselor since 2013. Most recently, he qualified to become an Advanced Clinical Supervisor for LLPCs and can provide consultation services for other private practices.
