She specializes in helping clients navigate the aftermath of significant events like infidelity, a spouse’s sex addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, or childhood trauma, allowing them to lead a more fulfilling life.
After earning a B.S. in Psychology focusing on Addictions and Recovery from Liberty University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cornerstone University, Teresa worked in a variety of settings before coming to Bloom Behavioral Health Partners. Her clinical internship took place in the Intensive Outpatient Treatment Groups and Individual Counseling at Samaritas Substance Use Disorder Clinic. She has also worked with homeless populations battling substance abuse and mental health disorders.
At Bloom, Teresa uses therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to treat her clients. She uses EMDR to help treat eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.
Helping clients cope with betrayal trauma and other issues is rewarding for Teresa. “I enjoy working with clients and helping them achieve goals they once thought were impossible,” she says.
